The charity was founded by 6th-year pupil of Bishopbriggs High School Alastair McPhee in 1982. Alastair remains the Managing Editor of the service and Managing Director of the enterprise arm, Deanwood Ltd.

As Readers Director, I use my long-standing experience with Cue and Review, my remedial speech qualification, and public speaking skills to support volunteer readers in delivering clear recordings. My knowledge of podcast tools like MyPhone and Audacity helps us explore new ways to reach more people. I focus on high standards, volunteer support, and making our service accessible to all.

Being visually impaired myself, I know and understand 1st hand the problems and difficulties people with disabilities encounter. I have a big interest in the Alexa skills, as my home is controlled by her. I hope my knowledge, experience with people, service user skills, may be of some use to Cue and Review.
